Miss Fisher Con 2021

Richmond, Virginia || July 15 - 17, 2021

Sign up for the masquerade

It's time for those who are feeling crafty to sign up for our annual costume contest, the Masquerade!

For in-person attendees, we have three prize categories to choose from, or you can just show off without judgement at our catwalk. Virtual attendees who want to participate will submit photos or a short video that will be streamed from the con.

The categories are:

  • Haute Couture - Costumes from the era of the Miss Fisher books, either TV show, or the movie that are at least 75% handmade. Prize category.
  • Prêt-à-Porter - Costumes that evoke a character or idea from the books, TV shows, or movie but that are less than 75% handmade. Prize category.
  • Ensemble - Group costumes. No restrictions on handmade/bought costumes. Prize category.
  • The Catwalk - Strut your stuff on the stage. No prizes, but quite a lot of fun.
  • Virtual Catwalk - Show off your look. No prizes, but a way to be in on the fun.

You have until July 11 to sign up!

Register for Miss Fisher Con

There are still a few spots available for Miss Fisher Con! We are capping in-person attendance this year at 90 (far below what our room will hold, so social distancing will be easily accomplished).

Register now

Not ready to travel? Don't fret - we're also offering a limited virtual experience. Here's what you need to know:

  • All in-person sessions will take place at the Jefferson Hotel.
  • In-person registration will also include all virtual sessions.
  • Virtual registration will not include all sessions and activities.
  • Some virtual sessions will be offered live.
  • The virtual schedule may differ from the in-person schedule.

Session details are now available, and we're excited to welcome two VIPs this year - Roger Lanser, the director of photography for Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries and Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears, and Geraldine Hakewill, star of Ms. Fisher's Modern Murder Mysteries! Both will be virtual, and Roger will be joining us live!

The ACotA Board and Richmond Con Committee are doing everything we can to have a fun and safe event in 2021. This means the con will, by necessity, be smaller than in previous years, and masks will be mandatory! We are in regular communication with the Jefferson and will continue to follow the State of Virginia's guidelines for public gatherings.

Explore Richmond

Richmond has a ton of history, and it's growing in ways that we think Phryne would approve of. We're excited to explore, and we hope you are too! We've put together some tips from the locals, and the Virginia tourist board also has ideas for you!
