News from the Wireless

February 16, 2019

Hello, fellow Miss Fisher fans!

So much has happened since our last newsletter - it’s been a pretty newsworthy month! We’ve learned that Miss Fisher’s MODern Murder Mysteries will begin airing on Australia’s Channel 7 on February 21. In case you haven’t seen them, check out the clips of the series that are being shown on the show’s official Instagram - it’s looking really good!

And there's been some fantastic news for US fans: Multiple sources have confirmed that Acorn TV has picked up both the new series (starting in spring 2019) and Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears for its streaming service (sadly, no other countries have been confirmed as yet, but we’ll keep you posted). The news also says that the movie will have a limited theater release in the US - not sure about you, but I’m already considering road trip options if it comes to that.

Oh! And in case you missed it, another Kickstarter reward has been shipped out - the signed cast photo. Twitter user @dumblydore posted a picture of her copy, and it’s glorious!

Announcing Mystery Manor: Curse of the Black Scarab

One of the things we've been working on is a Saturday night special event for this year's Miss Fisher Con! Get ready to get your Phryne on as you and a team solve a mystery that will take you back to ancient Egypt.

Cairo, 1925. When a renowned archaeologist from Australia uncovers the tomb of an Egyptian noblewoman named Nimaethap near the Valley of the Kings, all eyes turn to Cairo for the mummy’s unveiling. But danger lurks in unexpected places - someone is murdered at the event and a spectacular jewel called the Black Scarab is stolen! The sleuths of The Adventuresses’ Club of the Americas have been called in to solve the mystery… and time is running out.

From the creative teams of League of 13 Entertainment comes Mystery Manor: The Curse of the Black Scarab - an immersive, interactive murder mystery game that pits players against the clock (and each other) through mind-bending puzzles, clue-dropping characters, and clever conundrums that will let them prove that they are master detectives. With the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum of San Jose, CA, as its backdrop, Mystery Manor: The Curse of the Black Scarab will transport players to a time of exotic lands, ancient secrets, and nail-biting adventure!

Tickets for this interactive event will be available on our website starting March 1 for con attendees (not yet registered? There’s still time!); transportation from the hotel to the museum for the event is included. We hope that all of our con attendees will join us!

Sessions at the 2019 Miss Fisher Con

Session submissions are in for Miss Fisher Con 2019, and it’s going to be a wonderful line-up! This year’s topics are wide-ranging - we’ll have a session on common poisons in the early 20th century, a brief history of the Hispano Suiza from someone who owns one, and a presentation on what the expectations and compensation would have been for domestic staff, just to name a few. Honestly, I can’t wait to see them all! We’re working on the schedule and will update the website with it as soon as possible.

Deviant Ollam presents his lockpicking session at the 2018 Miss Fisher Con.

We hope you’ll join us at con - it’s going to be a great one!

Cheers,
Sarah

PS In case you missed it, we’ve posted photos from Miss Fisher Con 2018 on our website - it was a great time, and this year is shaping up to be even better!
