Hi there, fellow Miss Fisher fans!

Before we get into the news for this month, we have something we’d like to say, in case you missed it on our social media. The Adventuresses’ Club of the Americas has always and will always support diversity, equality, and equity. Like our Adventuresses’ Club forebears from the shows, we are not content to be passive and let the injustices of the world occur without stepping up. Not through slogans and manifestos but through our actions, encouraging actionable steps, showing up for our communities, and uplifting the voices of the marginalized.

We also recognize that people need a place of refuge - joyous escapism - to anchor them during uncertain times and to be a reminder of better days to come. Like our beloved heroine, we recognize there is a need for both of these things in our lives.

This is a really difficult time in our history, and a little escapism can be a healing salve, shoring us up for the battles ahead. It's okay to take a break from outrage, anger, and sorrow to recharge in your happy place. We hope we can be that space for you.

Miss Fisher Con 2021

One of our happy places is Miss Fisher Con, and though we’re still sad that we won’t be able to see you all this summer, we’re soldiering on by hosting online events to bring members together.

And we’re happy to report that it’s time to save the date: Miss Fisher Con 2021 will be held July 15-17, 2021. We’re looking forward to exploring Richmond, Virginia, in 2021 at the historic Jefferson Hotel.

Registration will open for members in the fall, and general registration will open in the new year. More information will be coming soon, including con pricing, how to book your hotel room, what the session topics will be, and additional details as we get them. Keep up to date with our 2021 con webpage. We hope that you’ll come and join us!

ACotA members get plenty of perks, including a discount on their Miss Fisher Con registration. We’ve recently added some online events, as well, including monthly rewatches of popular episodes (members’ choice!) and meetups we call Virtual Speakeasies - they’re a great way to get to know other fans of the shows and the movie. We are holding these at different times to try and accommodate our global membership.

In addition, our members get to help us choose the location of the next con - this year, our annual members’ meeting will include a vote for the region in which we’ll hold the 2022 Miss Fisher Con. That’s coming up soon - July 11, 2020 - so if you want to help get the con into your neck of the woods, consider becoming a member today! Want to know what it means to be on the con committee? Our next member rewatch will highlight our members’ favorite episode in series 3 - the poll is up on our website now, on the members’ home page.

In closing, we wanted to offer up some ways you can help in today’s difficult times. Taking action can help bring joy into the dark places that are made worse by silence.
