He completed High School at The Scots School Albury, then studied Creative Arts at The University of Wollongong for two years, before graduating from The National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney. At Melbourne Theatre Company he performed in Kid Stakes, Away, Trelawny of the Wells, A Single Act, Don's Party, and Summer of the Seventeenth Doll. At Sydney Theatre Company — A Man With Five Children and The Malthouse—Porn Cake. For The NIDA company, he performed in No Names No Pack Drill, at The Old Fitzroy — An Unseasonable Fall of Snow and at La Mama — Us. For Hit Productions, he toured Speaking in Tongues. For Belvoir, he performed in Cloudstreet’s international production, and for Mollison, Alone it Stands. He also played Stanley in La Boite's production of A Streetcar Named Desire. On television Travis has appeared in Good Guys Bad Guys Seasons 1 & 2, Halifax FP, Blue Heelers, All Saints, Stingers, Changi, Fat Cow Motel, Through My Eyes, Last Man Standing, Rush, Howzat! Kerry Packers War, Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries Seasons 1–3, Informer 3838, Harrow, 10 Pound Poms Seasons 1 & 2, and High Country. His feature film credits include Shot of Love, Hobby Farm, Roadman, I Love You Too, Birthday, Swerve, Cactus, Kokoda, How Do You Know Chris, Miss Fisher and The Crypt of Tears, and Rams. Travis has directed productions of Don’s Party, The Eight: Reindeer Monologues, After Dinner, A Single Act and The Glass Menagerie at The Sydney Acting Studio.
