We hope that you are all staying safe and well - for those who are able to stay home and flatten the curve, we salute you; those whose functions are essential, we thank you. As Miss Fisher says, nothing that matters is easy, but we’ll get through these strange times together and will come out stronger on the other side.
Miss Fisher Con 2021 news
We’re continuing to plan the next in-person Miss Fisher Con, and we’ve decided that for 2021 we’ll be staying in Richmond, Virginia! The Jefferson Hotel is beautiful, and their events crew is so lovely - we’re excited to give this wonderful town another go. More details will follow as we have them.
Upcoming member events
In the coming weeks, members of ACotA will have the opportunity to join us in a rewatch of a favorite episode for each season. For season 1, our members chose episode 2, Murder on the Ballarat Train. A group of folks convened in the members-only ACotA Slack chat room to watch together - some folks dressed up, others dressed down, and we all brought our own beverages and snacks to revel in watching the show we all love with a group of like-minded individuals. It was delightful!
Our second rewatch will take place on Saturday, May 30, at 11:30 am PT - the poll is available on our members’ home page (you’ll need to log in to see it). We’ll be choosing an episode from season 2; what would your choice be? A trip to the beach or an undercover investigation at a radio station? Or perhaps the drama of an imagined death or the uncovering of a human trafficking plot? Our members will decide, and we can’t wait!
We are also going to host our first ever ACotA Cocktail Hour this coming Friday, May 15, at 6:30 pm PT! This first time, we’ll meet on ACotA Slack (so you’ll have to be a member to join us) and get to know each other via chat, but if it’s a success, we’ll expand into video conferencing and do it again next month. It’ll be a great way to get to know your fellow Miss Fisher fans! I’m afraid that you will have to provide your own refreshments - Phryne would choose a whiskey or some French champagne to mark the occasion, we’re sure. We want to hear what you come up with and whether you dress up, and we’d love to see your photos! Please @ us and use the hashtags #ACotAHappyHour #ACotAClubhouse #Phryday for anything you’re posting on social media - on Instagram, we’re @adventuresses_club_americas, on Twitter, it’s @missfishercon, and on Tumblr, it’s @adventuressclubamericas, or you can reach out on Facebook. Can’t wait to meet you!
If you are not yet a member, we hope you’ll consider joining the Adventuresses' Club! Our members get all the news first, a discount on Miss Fisher Con registration, and more - we are a nonprofit social club, and all of our members’ dues go toward running the business that makes Miss Fisher Con possible. We’d love for you to partner with us in our mission to bring the community of Miss Fisher fans together.
Have a drink with us
Back in February, at the premiere of Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears held at the Sun Theatre in Melbourne, a delightful beverage was served - they called it “the Phryne,” and they were kind enough to share the recipe with the attendees. Our friends at The Miss Fisher Philes podcast shared it, and we wanted to bring it to you all too!
